Skyrim DLC to Feel More Like Expansions (Whatever That Means)

Skyrim

Vikings love more in depth DLC content!

When it comes to open world Bethesda games, one can always expect a slew of DLC content to arrive consistently for the months following a game’s release. However, consistently good content is another story, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim project Lead Todd Howard feels they’ve learned their lesson from the frantic pace of content released for Fallout 3.

In an interview with AusGamers (which is probably a hilariously mispronounced site name at times) he explained that Skyrim DLC would feel much more like an expansion than the shorter DLC standard offered in both Fallout releases. If Operation Anchorage was a Wendy’s Single, Skrim fans can expect some Baconators with an extra beef pattie (my words not his).

When Fallout DLC (both 3 and New Vegas) DLC was well done, it was enjoyable. However, the other more rushed content led to very crappy or boring experiences. I think Oblivion’s Shivering Isles worked quite well for what it cost and would be happy for something similar in both the Skyrim and Fallout universes, but knowing at least one of those games will benefit from a more thoughtful package is good enough for me.
