Gears of War 3 Horde Command DLC and Double XP Now Live

Fashionably late but with goodies...

Gears of War 3‘s Horde Command Pack DLC was mired by a slight delay in release yesterday due to a “technical issue”. The DLC wasn’t released until later in the day on November 1 as opposed to the traditional release time early in the morning for everyone who doesn’t sleep and had to get their hands on the new content.

That being said, when the DLC was halted temporarily to work out the technical issue I, and many others, weren’t all that bothered by the delay. The game was released as scheduled on the day it was meant to be, and many gamers stated they would much rather have a situation in which they have working DLC rather than something paid for then patched just to meet a deadline.

For gamers who like things (who doesn’t), the DLC comes complete with 3 new maps, 3 new playable characters, 2 weapon skins, new fortification upgrades and achievements worth 250 Gamerscore. This DLC is released at 800 MS points or if you bought the season pass you’re good to go. The season pass is 2400 MS points.

So to celebrate the Horde Command Pack, Epic is now hosting Double XP all the way through November 14. So if you’re like me, and haven’t played much or enough Gears of War, now is your opportunity to do so, get rewarded and get fragged.
