24HCGC Video Highlights Part 3: Horde Mode
Each day this week, I will be revisiting A Call to Gamers 1st 24 Hour Charity Gaming Challenge (24HCGC) for Child’s Play through our video highlights currently available on our Twitch.tv channel. We started a 24 hour video game marathon for Child’s Play on the night of October 14th, and livestreamed as much of the action as possible from NetHeads in Carmel, IN. Our core team of 6 gamers along with friends and family met up to begin 24 hours of gaming after being up for 12 hours already.

It’s funny to think back about just how excited all of us were to have the time to go through a full Horde run in Gears of War 3. We expected around 6-8 hours of game time, perfect for our overnight session while our audience was sleeping. We’d be ready to go first thing in the morning with plenty of new challenges and new games. It was time to go to work:
These early waves were just too easy:
With three squads off and running, things were going smoothly for my foursome on normal. We were trying to catch up to Brandon’s offsite team who was setting the pace. Through 20 waves, things seemed to be on schedule:
Josh and Cole’s Team Hardcore had their own challenges, but were digging in for the long haul:
My squad started running behind schedule with a tough battle through waves 39 and 40, but the wall hit us harder than we ever expected at Wave 47. Our team was just a little battle worn:
After a small break, we dove back in and our attitudes had gone from carefree, to careless and delirious:
Finally, after multiple hours on wave 47 and 48. Cole and Team Hardcore took a break, and Cole joined up with our squad to give us a full fivesome. 12+ Hours after we started, we caught a break of a Brumak boss and the end was in sight:
This is the last we will ever speak of Horde Mode:

Sleep deprivation leads to some ridiculous commentary.
