We’ve been having a damn good time livestreaming more of our gaming sessions lately and interacting with those of you have made it into chat or joined in the game itself. If you haven’t been able to make it or even if you have, we’ve started posting highlight videos (depending on your perspective) multiple times a week. Subscribe to see reality crush our gaming skills time and time again and let us know if we found your favorite moment. Your suggestion could be our next clip or maybe even feature some of your own skills.
War Thunder – How not to glide
Josh, along with friend of the site, Travis, and I took to the free-to-play skies in War Thunder where I haven’t quite mastered the basics of flying. Most of the time, it doesn’t matter as the greatest part of the game for me continues to be the wrecks and the explosions. While most wrecks are pretty self-explanatory and caused by enemy fire or inanimate landscapes, there is a moment of panic that ensues when mechanical failure sets in. However, even when your propeller stops thousands of feet in the air, there’s a small chance you can still land safely. Unfortunately for a pilot like me in hostile territory, that chance may as well be no chance in Hell.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – Leave me alone vampire-spider-man
Soul Reaver is one of my favorite games, and while I still love the game, revisiting it has had its share of frustrations because let’s face it, early polygonal games have not aged well. One of the coolest gameplay mechanics that drew me to the game are the finishing moves because impaling vampires is fun. Combat, though, is secondary to environmental puzzle solving in the Soul Reaver universe, so respawning enemies become more of a nuisance than a threat. I like to think the spider-like Zephonim began to sense my frustrations when they decided to provide some wall climbing comic relief.
Dragon’s Dogma – The Adventures of Mr. Dave
This week our favorite create-a-character hero, Mr. Dave, returned to his adventures in Dragon’s Dogma and we revisited one of our favorite moments. Mr. Dave is a curious fellow and easily distracted from his more heroic tasks. Of course, when you are “built to mill about,” even just getting to know the livestock outside of Gran Soren can turn into an adventure all its own.
In this week’s episode of The Adventures of Mr. Dave, Mr. Dave came across a man with an uncanny family resemblance. It was unsettling to say the least. After deciding that there can only be one Mr. Dave in this world, Mr. Dave takes care of his “Uncle Antony” the only way he knows how.
Halo 4 – We don’t allow trucks here
Trucks. We love trucks. Want to know why we love trucks or where we all realized we all loved trucks? This is the catalyst. The Halo series has always encouraged vehicular adventures, but Josh took our warthog farther than Halo 4 or any 343 Studios developer intended. We definitely learned a thing or two about vehicular loyalty, and have been searching for truck adventures as a group ever since.
